01/15/2003 Entry: "Name that tune!"

It's quiet in my house but music is still playing in my head! =o) My Dad and I spent the evening on the phone playing name that tune...or more aptly, the ARTIST. I actually did pretty well all things considered, I think he was kinda surprised I knew some of the ones I did--I think my correctly guessing Paul Revere and Raiders really caught him off guard lol I told him that I play that song "Low Rider"...you know the one that you can't help but start bopping your head along to, and fact is, it doesn't matter who you are, you feel totally COOL just by being in the presence of the song--yeah well, I can't listen to it without thinking of my Dad. It will always remind me of the time I was in Taco Bell while he was out in the car (and no this wasn't when I was a teenager, it was like 2 months ago!)--and the guy who was getting our food for me asked me if that was my dh out in the car (his windows are tinted but hey my Dad's not a bad looking guy you know so I could understand this anyway!) and I said "Nope, that's my dad!" They guy nearly flipped his lid! He was like YOUR DAD drives a truck like that?!?!?! Oh yeah, he does and he does it with STYLE...and COOLNESS too! Now I can't even begin to detail to you what kind of truck it is...you know it's black, with all kinds of cool stuff on it, and it's lowered, and it is loud...I dunno maybe my Dad will comment here and tell us all what kind of truck it is...Dad?? Anyways, if you don't know what song I'm talking about...find it...you'll feel as cool as me and my Dad!

Let's see...today. Ehh...well, it's already TOMORROW here...that's always interesting to me...these days are all wrong on here because I am always writing so late at night, but it's one of the only times I can give this thing undivided attention. You may have noticed I did name this--Still Becoming. I also added alot of links, and will be working to finish up the rest of the stuff on here...oh and be sure to scroll ALL the way to the BOTTOM. I added an awesome bible study down there! Join me please?

Today was eventful and yet terribly uneventful all at once. I had company stop by which would be wonderful except in general I like for company to CALL me before they come by. I don't know why I feel so strongly about that but today my guests caught me in my flannel pants and showerless which always makes me a little LESS than sociable. That is probably why they only stayed a short period of time all things considered. The good news, my house was very nice and neat and tidy, the bad news--*I* wasn't which makes me wonder which is worse?? You know most people don't really live in their homes, they just "visit" them for a few hours, sometimes minutes a day. Now we on the other hand we definately LIVE in this house...we are here 90% of the time, we cook three meals a day here, we have school here, my children play nonstop here with each other and friends, we do all of our hobbies here, and well, we LIVE here, don't just visit. So my house, on any average day looks LIVED in. Now, I'm not talking about icky messy stuff, even my parents who swore I would grow up to live in a pigs pen will admit that my home is CLEAN (love you Mom and Dad!)...there's a difference between clean and well...your average home with three kids who are homeschooled, eat all of their meals here, and who LIKE being home. My home is nearly always in that status of being straightened...because as soon as something has been cleaned, cleared, straightened, put away or what not someone messes it up again so it's needing to be cleaned again. What is my point here? I dunno except today I would have been less embarrassed about my home being a mess (which it was remarkably neat today)than ME being a mess...and I wish people would just call..even a five minute notice would suffice so that I could look like a normal person and not the one I looked like today. Am I weird to feel that way?

Otherwise, I talked to my best friend (SMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOTCH ) for a while on the phone while her and her dh tried to tear up their computer ...or each other ...sometimes it is so hard to tell. ~giggle~ They are sweethearts really...even when they fuss at each other they are still one of the most "in love" couples I know in my whole world. I was actually on my cell phone with her and her dh fussing in one ear and on my home phone one of the sweetest little old ladies that we took Christmas presents to this year called to invite us over for hot cocoa sometime next week--so here I am trying to take care of the sweet little old lady who is just one of the most adorable people you have ever met--while the ear plug to my phone is playing an episode of "I love Lucy" in my ear. ROFL Life is never truly dull is it?

So you know after my whole...I'm a mess episode, eventually I *did* take a shower...I know you are all so very glad! Well, after I put on one of those beautiful gowns my Mom gave me, they are from Victoria's Secret...and before anyone gets any ideas that I am lounging around the house in risque underwear in front of my kids, let me put your mind at ease--this is the most lovely flannel floor length baby blue "poet" shirts you could ever dream of. Ruffled eyelet cuffs, sweetheart neckline with ribbons and bows...roomy flannel dream come true for me! Yup. I love this gown...the only thing that makes me more comfy than this gown is when I have it on and my dh is home and he puts lotion on my feet. =o) I'm spoiled...I admit it. (your dh should put lotion on your feet too you know--tell him I said so)

Okay so I am going to bed...late again...I know. I had some deep thoughts today, seriously...however, speaking of them will have to wait until tomorrow!

MMMMWAH!
God bless!
