01/25/2003 Entry: "Praise the Lord Tonight!"
Well, another day come and gone and I didn't get to spend it in my pajamas. I might have to wait until... I woke up this morning to my dh telling me that a friend of B's Mom had called and they wanted him to come over and play for the day. B was totally excited and I was totally asleep. Well, needless to say we did get him off to his day of fun filled, run through the woods, end up coming home with some kind of wound, boys will be boys full of unrepressed energy and enthusiasm for life day. He came home with a hurt foot, soaring spirit, and full of tall tales to tell about all of his adventures! Next weekend we will be hosting his buddy here for an overnight sleepover--we're excited about that already!

We went to the grocery store, we spend alot of time in the grocery store if you haven't noticed. We got some super deals though--and stopped on the way home and bought some Krispy Kreme donuts...YUMMY is all I can say about that!
When we got home B wanted to call his Grandma--so he has been on the phone with her for quite a long time. He is so great that way--he really loves his relatives and enjoys really TALKING to them!
This afternoon dh and I spent a long time watching some recordings we had done of sermons John Hagee did. We were so blessed by this. He has been doing a series on the Power of the Blessing, and the one we watched today was about breaking curses. I can say that a good 98% of what he said did not apply to my family, and that dh and I both recognized the 2% and have decided we need to do something to fix those things. It is SO wonderful to have a husband who will sit and talk about the Lord with you for hours...who holds your hand and prays...shows himself to be a Godly man in so many different ways both inside and outside our home...I am so truly blessed. I pray always that I will never take that for granted. I do know that alot of people I have talked to missed these episodes, but I encourage anyone who did to try to see if they might be run again in your area--as they really do have the power to change the course of one's life.
Talked to my Mom finally today! No, they didn't change their phone number! YAY! We talked for a long time about my children, about moving, about life, about everything...confronting fears we have that sometimes become debilitating to us. I think we probably all face feelings of overwhelming fear, sometimes over things that others see as so simple and mundane...we alone can never change or ease those fears--but I know as my Mom does--that the Lord has the power to change and overcome ANYTHING that might cause us to be bound. I know so many people right now who are facing different challenges in their lives...some of them are personal crisis involving a loved one, or some of them are experiencing things that they are worried and scared about, some are dealing with things I might not fully understand but I try to...and I know I can't fix things for everyone in the world, whether near or far, even the people I love--but I can pray for them, and take the worries I have for them to the Lord--I have ALOT of people on my prayer list these days--sometimes my prayers are intense, and I NEVER forget to pray for dear friends and family who are always so deep on my mind. Anyway, I'm praying for my Mom and me and everyone else that faces challenges in their lives that feel like they might be too big to conquer. Truth be told, no challenge is too big for God! And the really good news is He is always up for a challenge! I know the Lord is just WANTING to bless us, and I believe He WILL! I've decided I need a "Praise the Lord" smilie...
OH and another bit of info...Billy Graham at his website is giving away the most awesome book this month (he does this every month) that is called "How to Share Your Faith" and it is a very powerful book. Dh and I are reading it together...and we have both learned so much and we are on the first chapter!!
Some other good news--dh's Dad has been going to church for the last 4 Sundays which is beyond all blessings!! A friend of the family that we love dearly has actually been asking more questions which is a step forward--he even went out of his way to learn the prayer our children say before our meals so he could say it with them! I have friends who just gave birth to their fourth child, and a family I love so much who is expecting their first after SO many years of struggling. My spirit is SO moved lately by the work that the Lord is doing. We are destined to see great things I think. Praise God!!
Above all else I hope I convey to everyone today the peace I have knowing that I am in the sheltered harbor of the Lord. If you have unrest in your life today, I pray that God will reach His hand into your life and seal you with His protection--that you would be fullfilled in Him. C'mon now...I love you guys!
Be blessed! ~A
