Well, I have been gone again haven't I? Where do I begin? Well, B started his gymnastics classes which have us going to the park twice a week which is a WONDERFUL thing for B and also the girls as they are getting lots of playground time and I am getting lots of sunshine time! (it definately improves my mood!) We also had our first passover celebration this week. It was FANTASTIC. I don't have the energy to outline it all right now but I promise to do a write up on what it entailed very soon--and also show some of the awesome things I discovered while I was researching and learning! All I can tell you is the Spirit of the Lord was among us, and guided us in such wonderful ways!

Yesterday we went to a BBQ at our friend's home which was alot of fun. We got home late...in spite of the late hour I held a "learning session" before bed where I read a story book, outlined the events in Jesus life from this last week, and then had a long talk about what was important about the next day (today)...I had the kids baskets that we always set out (not for a bunny, but for a "surprise")--and I asked the children why they might get special gifts in their baskets when they set them out...my oldest sat for a long time and appeared to be in deep thought. He hesitated before he spoke, and after I told him there was NO wrong answer he told me that he really didn't understand...that Jesus was the ultimate gift, and since it was not a special day for any one of US then he did not understand WHY we SHOULD get any special gifts on the day of our Risen Lord. You know, I could have lit up the Hollywood sign with my smile, because I knew he had "gotten" it. I pointed out that what he said was totally true and valid. That indeed there was no real "reason" for us to do this, but that we did it for a "reason"...and that the reason was still a good one. So he thought for a moment more and said, maybe like how at Christmas even though it is to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we all exchange gifts to show each other how much we love each other and to do it like the gift God gave us in Jesus, this is like that...and I told him he was right, that it was about love, and nothing more than a special symbol of our love, and the love of God when He sent his Only Son to die for each of us. All of my children went to bed last night knowing WHY there would be a few special things and candy in those baskets this morning, they knew WHO was filling them up...and the cutest part of this whole story? I have stressed for years about being totally up front and honest with my children about these holidays--I was worried I would steal some part of their childhood by denying them the "Easter Bunny" and "Santa Clause" Boy was I wrong...guess what time I was awoken this morning by my two oldest? 6:30 am LOL They were too excited to wait another nanosecond--I learned a valuable lesson--trust my heart totally, my enthusiasm will be contagious--and *I* think alot more about some things than my *children* EVER will. This morning was just like every other Easter Morning which has come before...the excitement, the joy, the flurries of candy wrappers, the thrill that could barely be contained. The only difference? Our children came to us and hugged us with the biggest hugs and smiles, in some small way appearing relieved, and told us THANKS...They were so thrilled.

This afternoon we decorated eggs, but didn't get to hide them as we had to run out to try to find out where the kids art classes were being held (longer story even)--we also were needing to go to the store...on the way we drove by a carnival that was in the parking lot of the mall. I sit here $60 poorer-but memory rich!! WHAT A WONDERFUL evening we had!!! There were hardly anyone there, we never had to wait in line for anything...B met another little boy there who is exactly his age who was alone and they buddied up to ride the older kid rides...turns out the little boy lives right across the street! The Lord is so awesome that way! The girls had a BALL as they had some of the most unique rides I have ever seen for the younger children. C rode in these bumper boats...they were the coolest. Well, I have to tell you I nearly had a heart attack at some of the rides B was riding...they were the BIG rides, and he wasn't even remotely afraid...THEN my R rode SEVERAL of them too with B...I was so surprised. I have never been a rider of daring rides...dh has definately brought that out in me over the years...but I am still real wary...looks like my children have gotten their wild side from my dh and not me lolol At any rate, we came home dirty, with sticky cotton candy fingers, with a trunk full of stuffed animals, and memories that are SURE to last forever. And now, as I go to tuck my wee ones into bed a little later than I planned...I know each of them will give the glory for this most amazing day to the One who deserves all the praise...the maker of unrainy nights (of which we actually prayed it would not rain while we were at the carnival), carnival rides, "just enough money", cotton candy, stuffed animals, and all things that He called "good". Praise the Lord.

Be blessed!!
